1) Limit or be selective of what we read in the news. While it is important to stay informed, too much contents about the coronavirus can heighten our distress.
2) Connect with family and friends. We can still maintain Social Connections even when we are physically apart; but, remain connected to friends, family, and community through any chosen media.
3) Take a few moments alone. Quiet time away from family members, or electronics such as phones, computers, TV, etc. is healthy for the mind.
4) Read a book that will take our mind away from work, local or global news.
5) Do physical activities. It proves that physical activities are vital components for good mental health. There are various at-home workout exercises that will help us stay active. Even with limited space at home or without equipment, we can invent on ways to exercise.
6) And finally, Eat Well. Eating as healthily as possible is important not only for our physical health, but our psychological well-being too. A healthy diet has shown to reduce our risk of chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity, as well as depression and anxiety.
Even though we may feel trapped in our homes, we can’t lose sight that we still need to continue to live our lives, perform well at work so we can continue to provide financial support for ourselves and families.
